Terence Edward Cox

Terence Edward Cox, 84, of Sharon Springs, New York, passed away peacefully on October 27th at Palatine Nursing Home.
Born to Edward John Cox and Helen Cecilia Fitzgerald, Terry dedicated his life to service, hard work, and community. He was an Officer in the Army Reserves and later built a long, successful career, retiring from both Ford Motor Company and General Electric. Terry was a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts while his children were scouts and he continued to give generously of his time, volunteering with the Cherry Valley Museum, and several local cemetery committees.
Terry shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy Joy Cox. Together, they made their home in Poestenkill, New York, where they raised their family and built lasting friendships.
He is survived by his devoted wife Nancy, his sister Connie Patterson, his children: Terence and Elizabeth, Michael and Anne, and Timothy and Kelly, seven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held in the South Valley Cemetery on November 21st at 10:00 a.m., with a potluck reception to follow at the Old School Cafe in Cherry Valley.
In lieu of flowers send donations to the Cherry Valley Museum.
Terry will be remembered for his kind heart, steadfast dedication, and deep love for family and community.
