A visitation for Terence “Terry” Lane Flores will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana.

Terence “Terry” Lane Flores of Mooringsport, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Terry was born on May 18, 1953 in Mansfield, Louisiana. His family moved from Shreveport to Baton Rouge in 1957, where he spent his childhood. He loved to learn and read and always had a book in his hand. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Southeastern Louisiana University and received his Louisiana teaching certificate from Northwestern State University, He enjoyed his years teaching in the Caddo Parish school system and retired from teaching at Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport in 2020.

Terry loved traveling with his wife and going on weekend adventure trips. He could not wait for his wife to retire so they could finish their goal of visiting every US state. His favorite place they visited was Alaska.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, William Bernard Flores, Sr., and Frances Laffitte Flores; his brother, William Bernard Flores, Jr, and his sister, Donna Carol Flores.

Terry is survived by the love of his life, wife, Betsy Greer Flores; their daughter, Amber Dunson, and son-in-law, John of Haughton, LA; grandchildren, Alyvia and Gavin Dunson of Haughton, LA, Jessica Beaudeaux of Sulphur, LA, and great-grandson, Kingsley of Sulphur, LA. He is also survived by his sister, Veronica Flores Ladner of Diamondhead, MS, and his brother, Joseph Flores of St. Gabriel, LA; his special friend, Tammy Dowd, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Everyone who met him knew him as a sweet, caring man. He loved doing for others and loved BIG.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gazi Zibari and the SICU nurses at Willis Knighton North.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the children’s and youth group of Ferry Lake Baptist Church, 10179 Ferry Lake Rd., Oil City, Louisiana 71061.
