Teresa Baer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home East on Jul. 2, 2022.
Teresa Ann Baer (Terri) was born on July 28, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Elman and Loretta Moore. She was the second of three children, Janis being her older sister and Thom being her younger brother.
She graduated from Marion Franklin High School in 1975, where she was a cheerleader, and was very active in student life.
Terri accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior when she was 9 years old. Her friends, Vickie and Diane Turner, were instrumental in bringing her to Christ. Terri was baptized in the Scioto River along with her older sister and their mother.
While in college Terri met Bill Baer, who became the love of her life. They were married on December 28,1974. Terri graduated from Capital University in May of 1975 with a degree in elementary education. A life- long learner and a gifted teacher, Terri later received a master's degree in Ministry Leadership from Rockbridge Seminary.
During college her husband Bill was called to Christian ministry, a calling enthusiastically shared by Terri. Together they served in ministry almost 50 years. Terri was a joyous minister's wife, and was very loved and admired by people in the churches they served. Bill and Terri were missionaries in South America for almost 34 years, where Terri was an unusually effective and loved missionary. She was especially sought out as a teacher, a counselor, speaker and friend.
To their heaven-blessed family God gave three sons – Jonathan, David and Daniel, all of whom were born and raised on the mission field. Bill and Terri have two precious daughters-in-law – Lisa and Kristen. They have eleven very loved grandchildren – Tyler, Nathan, Gabriella, Bella, Aiden, Vaughan, Emma, Jane, Kate, Faith and Matthew. They are expecting a twelfth granddaughter in August.
Terri's passion in life was sharing the gospel message of salvation in Jesus Christ and discipling women. Her humility and sincerity made Terri loved and trusted wherever she lived and ministered.
She was ushered into the arms of her beloved Jesus on July 1, 2022. Terri leaves behind a grateful family and many loving friends.
Services for Terri will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Second Baptist Church in Springfield, MO with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. Arrangements are under the care of Greenlawn Funeral Home East.

Terri was such an inspiration. It amazed me of how long her and Bill were missionaries. I remember the day they went before the Church so we could pray for her and Bill as they went to Chili as missionaries.

Oh Bill, I am so sorry for such a great loss. I have memories of meaningful talks with you and Terri. A wonderful beautiful lady. I always loved when you guys always came home from the mission field and would share such fascinating stories. I also remember when you and Terri went forward at Parsons Baptist Church saying God has called you two out to the mission field. So amazing. Terri was such a loving person and she loved with her heart to so many. What a privilege and honor to have known Terri. God be with you Bill and your family as you transition toward a different journey in life.

I was saddened to hear of Terri´s passing on one hand because I know this is such a deep loss for your family. On the other hand, though, I can just see Terri basking in the light and loving presence of our Savior. She´s probably met half of heaven´s population by now, joining them in singing God´s praises! I was so blessed to be part of the team in Paraguay when Bill and Terri led our team. They were very caring team leaders, were excellent missionaries, and caring friends. Our two sons, who were young boys at that time, loved Terri and Bill, as they took time to show a genuine interest in them. Terri even babysat them on a few occasions. They have been faithful to send us birthday greetings each year, which has been so sweet, thoughtful, and much appreciated!!
I will always remember Terri as being such an effective, passionate witness for our Lord. She didn´t meet a stranger, was so gracious, and her love for and deep walk with Jesus overflowed to others around her. She was a caring friend as well! I loved her and will miss knowing that she´s still praying for us. I´m praying for our Lord´s comfort as only He can give, and trusting Him to fill the void here on earth that Terri left with His peace, and a great awareness of His presence. With much love for your family, Lori Starkey (and family)

Terri was a wonderful youth leader while I was in high school. She was a bus captain for awhile at Parson Baptist Church, she and Bill were a great team.Terri´s witness and her life was a big influence to me.

No words. Still wrapping our heads around this. But what we know for certain is Terri is with our Lord...face to face. Oh Bill, we love you all. We treasure the friendship we have had but most of all that we are all members of the same family... God's richest blessings of comfort on all of you.

Bill, my prayers are with you and your family. You all have been a big blessing to me when Louanna died. I have an idea of how hard this is for you right now. Knowing and expecting a dear loved one´s passing is one thing, but the time after it happens is quite another. Knowing she is with the Father helps, but it doesn´t take away the pain. I now say that Louanna´s most joyous day was my most painful day. Prayers.

I am so sorry for her family and friends left here. But I am so happy for Terri because without a doubt she is sitting at Jesus´s feet worshiping and adoring Him. I´m sure he greeted her with "Well done my good and faithful servant.
Memories of her have flooded my mind these last few days.
When you put together the photos please include one of when she had the long red braids.
Until we meet again.

I am very sorry to learn of Terri's passing. We were in HS together and were both active in the Drama Club. I have always remembered her fondly from the plays we were both in. I lost track of her when I entered the Marines. Fair winds and following seas my friend.
