Teresa Maria Johnson, born on May 9, 1973, in Washington, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She passed away on December 21, 2025, in Memphis, TN, after a long battle that displayed her unwavering strength and determination.
Teresa dedicated many years of her life to the Holland America Cruise Line, where her vibrant spirit shone brightly in her work. She cherished the opportunity to care for others, embodying the essence of service with a smile. Her colleagues admired her for both her professional dedication and her genuine warmth, setting an example within the industry.
An adventurous soul, Teresa embraced travel with passion. She shared many delightful memories on trips with her beloved mother, Geraldine Johnson. Together, they journeyed from Washington D.C. to Florida, The Panama Canal, California, and even Hawaii. These experiences not only strengthened their bond but also nurtured Teresa's love for exploration, allowing her to discover new cultures and landscapes.
Teresa was known for her outgoing personality; she was a friend to everyone she met. No stranger ever walked into her life without leaving as a friend, and her vast knowledge on various subjects often made for delightful conversations. Her curiosity fueled her desire for knowledge, and she always pursued learning with joy, reflecting her pride in her personal accomplishments.
She leaves behind a loving family, who will forever cherish her memory. Her mother, Geraldine Johnson; brother, Mike; and sisters, April, Michelle, Debbie, and Lisa, are among those who held her dear. They are joined by a host of family and friends whose lives she touched and enriched.
Though she has departed from this world, Teresa's spirit will remain alive in the countless stories, laughs, and memories created throughout her life. She is also preceded in death by her father, David E. Johnson, step-father, Eugene, and brother, Gene, who await her in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to honor Teresa's life and legacy at her burial service, scheduled for December 26, 2025, at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. The ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM, allowing all who loved her a moment to reflect on the beautiful person she was and the impact she made in their lives.
In remembrance of Teresa Maria Johnson, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, curiosity, and the joy of travel, celebrating every moment as she would have done.
