Teresa "Terri" Kosow, age 92 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Country Arch Care Center, Pittstown, NJ. Born on November 5, 1932, in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ludmila (Pribilova) Avender. She was a woman of remarkable resilience and grace, having immigrated to the United States in 1939. Throughout her life, she made significant contributions both personally and professionally.
Terri's career included notable positions such as serving as a secretary to the president of the Lookheed Corporation in North Plainfield, NJ. Following this role, she transitioned into the realm of sales, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to her work.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Terri was passionate about various interests. She was an avid collector of antiques, acquiring beautiful pieces that reflected her discerning taste and love for history. Known for her stylish demeanor, she was always up to date with the latest fashion trends, particularly in footwear, which underscored her lively personality.
A long-time member of the Central Hunterdon Baptist Church in Raritan Township, NJ, Terri's faith and community involvement were integral aspects of her life.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Ludmila "Millie" Deakyne, and her husband, Norm, of Wilmington, North Carolina. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom she was always attentive with. They will remember her fondly.
Terri was predeceased by her husband, the late Nicolai "Nick" Kosow, in 2002, as well as her three sisters: Vasiljka, Madeline, and Josephine. Her legacy is one of love, style, and a commitment to her family and community.
Burial, next to her late husband, will be held privately in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
Memorial contributions in Terri's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
