Teresa Mae Lorentz (nee Aldera)
March 7, 1930 – February 16, 2025
Teresa "Terri" Lorentz was born to Natale "Ned" Aldera, and Katherine "Lou" Mernin, on
March 7, 1930 in Storm Lake, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School and then went
on to obtain a degree in English, graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
While at Creighton, she met her fellow student and future husband, Richard "Dick" Lorentz.
They were married in Jefferson, Iowa on August 10,1953. At that time Dick was in the Army
and the newlyweds spent their early years together living in Iowa, Nebraska, and Hawaii
before finally settling in Dallas in 1957.
Terri's dedication to her Catholic faith and belief in the lasting value of Catholic education
led her to a decades-long career in teaching. She began as the upper-level English teacher
at Saint Pius X Catholic school in the early 1960s, and taught there until 1972, when she
began teaching at Bishop lynch high school. Terri went on to teach at Bishop Lynch for 26
additional years, retiring in 1998. In addition to her expertise in teaching, she was an
accomplished musician and singer. For many years she sang in and directed the choir at
Saint Pius X Catholic Church and was the musical director for the student plays at Bishop
Lynch. Her work on the student plays even continued for several years after her retirement
from teaching.
Especially during her later years Terri was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Mavericks, the
Cowboys, and especially the Texas Longhorns. One of her most cherished family traditions
was her annual Texas-OU party. Every October for over 60 years, her sister, Dee, and her
family would come from Oklahoma to enjoy a weekend of football and spirited family rivalry
at the Lorentz house.
Terri Is preceded in death by her husband, Dick, sisters, Dolores "Dee" Brown and Charlotte
Beaudry, and granddaughter Karina Falk. She is survived by her four children, Cathy Falk,
David Lorentz (Darlene), Gerri Musso (Nick), and Tom Lorentz (Sonia), grandchildren Nicole
Taylor (John), Anthony Musso (Jennifer), Danielle Riddle (Zack), Nathalie Albert (Aaron), and
Loren Mims (Josh), and great-grandchildren, Gianna & Quentin Taylor, Peyton & Lane Riddle,
and Shane Musso (ETA- June 2025), and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 1st from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Eastgate Funeral Home,
1910 Eastgate Dr., Garland, Tx 75041.
On Monday, March 3rd, recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM, immediately
followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus
Thomasson Rd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
Graveside services to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220.

Mrs. Terry Lorentz, it was a pleasure caring for you for the year that we were friends . You kept me on my toes. I learned as much as I could from you as I was raised to respect my elders. It was my choice to show you nothing but respect in all matters , in business and on a personal level. I pray that you are resting in peace and you are exactly where you want to be, in the house of Our Father.
Please know that as challenging as our time together was at times, that you touched my heart, and for that I am eternally grateful .
Thank you for everything Terri.
