Teresa P. Sunkes

Wynantskill - Teresa P. Lonz Sunkes, 92, of Wynantskill died Friday, January 22, 2021, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a brief illness.Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Patrick Lonz and Mary Marzinsky Lonz and wife of the late Thomas F. Sunkes. She was raised in Troy and resided in Wynantskill since 1954 and attended Troy High School.Teresa, many years ago, worked for Cluett, Peabody & Company and for many years was a homemaker. Raising her kids was her glory. She also volunteered as a lunch aide at St. Jude's School.She was a 15 year member of the Uncle Sam Sparklers and a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill.Survivors include her children, Patrick Thomas (Lisa) Sunkes, Albany, Thomas D. (Angela) Sunkes, Troy, Daniel R. (Barbara) Sunkes, Grafton, Marlene T. (William) Mokey, Rochester and Dean D. (Tracey) Sunkes, Troy; 13 grandchildren;18 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Bechand, North Greenbush and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kristen Sunkes and a sister, Delores Fairbanks.Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.The family would like to thank the entire staff of Van Rensselaer Manor for their wonderful care of Teresa during these trying times.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Teresa P.
