Teresa Lynn Verble

Teresa Lynn Verble, 67, of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025. She was born on October 26, 1957. She is preceded in her death by her parents; Adas James (Jim) and Anita Sylvia Jean Verble.
Teresa graduated from Madison County High School, Home of the Gurley Tigers, in 1975. While in attendance, she participated in a variety of sports and choir. She loved to sing and play the guitar and she even played the banjo. Teresa was the first ever female to try out and make the varsity football team at Madison County High School in 1974. She was injured during fall practice and never got the opportunity to play in a game, but her presence was felt on that field as she didn't play "like a girl". She went on to attend Jacksonville State University and Auburn University. While at Auburn, she was on the track and field team with her main event being shot put.
Teresa is survived by one sister, Valerie Adams (Curtis); four brothers, Jim "Jimbo" Verble (Sharon), Thomas "Tommy" Verble (Emily), Keith Verble (Leigh), and Kevin Verble; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her funny stories and cheerful presence greatly.
Her pallbearers will be Josh Verble (nephew), Steven Verble (nephew), Sammy Verble (nephew), Keegan Verble (nephew), Tommy Verble and John Perrin (family friend). Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Verble, Keith Verble and Kevin Verble.
While Teresa dealt with numerous health issues recently, her positive attitude and sense of humor never wavered. She was a favorite among the staff at Albertville Nursing Home and our family is eternally grateful for them taking such wonderful care of her.
Visitation for Teresa will be from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Josiah Huffman officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal shelter in memory of Teresa Verble. Teresa was referred to by many as the "animal whisperer". She has joined her best puppy, Roxanne, in Heaven where we're sure Roxanne is wearing her favorite bandanna.
