Teressa Michelle “Momma” left this earth on November 4, 2024, at her home in Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by her family and her precious fur babies.
Teressa's family invites you to join them in celebration as they pay tribute to her wonderful 56 years of life at 1 pm on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Schooler Funeral Home's Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia.
Michelle was born May 17, 1968, in Amarillo to Royce and Amelia Modisette. She attended Tascosa High school and then went on to earn her LVN license from the Amarillo College Nursing program, graduating on May 25, 1993. She enjoyed her nursing career in many different specialties but her heart belonged to her geriatric patients. Although her nursing career came to an end due to her health, her passion to serve and help others always stayed close to her heart.
She took pride in taking care of her baby brother until his death in January 2023. Michelle never met a dog or cat she didn’t love, and would have taken every one of them into her home if she had her way.
Michelle was preceded in death by her mom, Amelia, brother Josh, her aunt Debbie, Mema Winnie and Papa Roy, and Papa Willie and Mema Doreen. She is survived by her loving husband Mark; her daughter LeAnna “Sweets,” her Father Royce and wife “Her” Pam; her precious grandbabies Nevaeh Hughes and Braylon Rue; her cousin Crystal Thomas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her so much.
We want to thank BSA Hospice of the Southwest and their wonderful staff for taking such great care of her. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite animal rescue group or adopting a furbaby of your own.
