Terran Maximus Loudenback was born on October 21st, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He died in his home in Oklahoma City August 4th, 2024. He was 21 years old.
Terran lived in Sapulpa his first six years. He spent a lot of time at the Jenks Aquarium, going to the Tulsa Zoo, and surrounding parks with his mom and Grandma Rose. He loved spending time outside, beginning his love for nature. His mom took him hiking somewhere most weekends. He attended Freedom Elementary for pre-K and kindergarten, and played on his first soccer team.
When Terran was six, he moved to Oklahoma City as his family got bigger. He attended Hilldale Elementary for the first grade, and St. John's Episcopal School for second grade through the eighth grade. He loved learning. He loved playing soccer. This was where his passion for chess began, as well as playing music.
Terran graduated from Putnam City West and took concurrent college course work at OSU OKC. He received his associate's degree from OSU OKC in computer science. He was enrolled for the fall semester at the University of Oklahoma where he was planning to pursue his interest in chemistry. His plan was to merge his interest in computer science with his interest in chemistry.
Terran's desire for learning and exploration touched many subjects, and he was a passionate learner. He loved sharing his passions with anyone interested. He was brilliant. Playing him at chess was not for the weak hearted. He was very good at it. He was crazy about video games, especially games that require strategic thinking. He loved Dungeons and Dragons and played regularly in a group with his mom and a group of friends.
Terran loved Music. His first instrument was the trombone, and he played the guitar as well. It was common to see him with his headphones on, listening to just about any music you could imagine. He was open minded about music, and gave everything a chance. He enjoyed keeping an open mind in general. He absolutely loved history, good and bad.
Terran was a Boy Scout in Troop 201, and loved having many outdoor adventures, including a trip to Colorado for some high adventure experiences. He loved the outdoors, and loved exploring nature, and whatever was around the next corner.
Terran was one of the kindest people to walk the Earth. He was accepting of everyone. He asked for little. He loved helping people. He gave people the benefit of the doubt. He'd share his last bread crumb with you. He had a bottomless imagination.
Terran is survived by his parents, Michele and David Loudenback, his grandmothers, "Grandma" Rose Gant and "Nanny" Liz Pearson, his siblings, Tyler and Kassidy Loudenback, Jazmin Hourihan, Jordan and Alex McCabe, nieces and nephews, Maura, Arlyn, Benjamin, Ryan, Callaghan, Chase, Jaxon, Tyr, Cooper, and Rhiannon, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, "Grandfather" Douglas Loudenback and "Grandpa" John Lamkin, and his sisters, Amber, Wynter, and Summer.
