Terrance James "Terry" McDermott

A celebration of life for Terrance "Terry" James McDermott, 74, of Wills Point, TX, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point. Services are under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home.
Terry passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at his home.
Terrance James McDermott was born on October 14, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, to parents James Lawrence McDermott and Artie Lee Bush McDermott. He was raised in Oklahoma City where he graduated from high school. Terry enlisted in the United States Navy and was a flight engineer for his 20 year military career for 1964-1984. He married Carol Ann Chambers on December 30, 1965, in Kingfisher, OK. While he and Carol lived in San Antonio and in Corpus Christi, Terry worked for the Customs & Border Protection Air and Marines for 23 years. They moved to the Wills Point community in 2017. He was a life-long member of the American Legion and a member of the Russell Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death parents, James and Artie McDermott; son, Christopher James McDermott; brother, Thomas Leon McDermott; sister, Marjorie McDermott.
Terry is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Chambers McDermott of Wills Point, Texas; son, _Patrick Brian McDermott and wife Renita of Harligen, TX; daughters, Angela Carol Trail and husband David of Kaufman, TX, and Gloria Diane Jackson and husband James of Athens, TX; brother, Michael David McDermott and wife Peggy of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Carol Lee Goff and husband Gary of Oklahoma City, OK; along with seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
