Terrance "Terry" E. Moran, 75, of Scranton, met the Lord peacefully on Tuesday at Allied Services Hospice Center surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, the former Carol Horvath, whom he has been lovingly married to for the past 47 years. Terry created wonderful memories and stories with his son, Jason and wife, Shelly; son, Michael Mecca and wife, Cecelia; son, William Mecca and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, David and wife, Nicole; Alanna, Matthew, Isabella and Michael; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Judson, Nancy and Jill; and whoever else he happened to cross paths. He will be having a reunion in heaven with his dad and mother, Eugene and Mildred Hafler Moran; and two sisters, Carol Roth and Lois Mulhall.

Born Sept. 6, 1946, in Philadelphia, he served in the United States Army Reserves, 109th Infantry and was a member of the Governor's Club. Terry was the owner and operator of Ornamental Iron and worked in elevator construction. He was also known as "D.J. Jinx."

It is often said when remembering loved ones, "He never met a stranger." In Terry's case, he never met a rule he couldn't break, a fish he wouldn't try to catch, a boundary he couldn't push, a line he couldn't cross and a story he couldn't stretch. Another common saying, "He was always lending a helping hand," very much applies to Terry who was prepared to do that and more. Despite his stubbornness and witty remarks, everyone knew him as a loving, altruistic and caring person which is evident in the deep sorrow and pain felt in his family and friends' hearts from his passing.
