Elaine M. Moran

Millersburg, PA - Elaine M. (Maurer) Moran, 70, of Millersburg, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at her home.
Elaine was born in Harrisburg, PA on February 16, 1955, a daughter of the late Lester and Clover (Bordner) Maurer of Dalmatia, PA.
Elaine graduated from Line Mountain High School in 1973, earned her Bachelor's degree from Regents and a Master's in Educational Technology Leadership from George Washington University.
Elaine retired from WGU as a college mentor in Information Technology and also worked at the PA Liquor Control Board and as Dean of Student Services at Harrisburg Area Community College.
A gifted artist, Elaine was a member of Penn's Woods Painting Group and Millersburg Area Art Association. She enjoyed sharing her talents by teaching classes at the Gallery on the Square in Millersburg. She also led painting groups to create memory boxes to donate to hospitals. She enjoyed researching geneology and contributed and co-authored books with local historian Steve Troutman. She had a love for flowers, birds, and butterflies which was apparent in her beautiful gardens around the family home.
Elaine hosted many family gatherings at her home making delicious meals for the family to enjoy. She loved crocheting and created many beautiful afghans and donated them to nursing homes and people in need.
Surviving are Elaine's husband, Doug, children Jill (Ryan) Davis of Millersburg and Joni Stoneroad (Todd Riland) of Millersburg, and step-daughter Julie (Bill) McCormick of Rome, NY. She dearly loved her grandchildren Austin Davis, Sage Davis, and Emmett Riland. Also surviving are brother Roy (Cindy) Maurer of Dalmatia, her sister Debra Blazer of Hegins, triplet nieces Kira, Kali, and Kelli Maurer of Dalmatia, niece Alyssa (Colby) Laudenslager of Halifax, and nephew Ben (Ashley) Blazer of Hegins.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 am with the service begining at 11 am on October 25 at Saint Luke's United Church of Christ in Malta, 837 Mahatango Creek Road, Dalmatia, PA 17017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Millersburg Area Art Association at 226 Union Street, Millersburg, PA 17061.
