MILLERSBURG - Eveline B. Hamilton, 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Harrisburg. Born on April 3, 1933, in Herndon, she was the daughter of the late Ray Michael and Alda Bordner Michael and a 1951 graduate of Millersburg High School.
Eveline lived with a gentle grace that made room for everyone. Down-to-earth and modest, she found delight in life's simplest gifts - sharing a meal, an unhurried conversation on a quiet afternoon, family vacations, and any gathering that kept her loved ones close. She had an especially soft spot for dogs and loved the pups that were part of her children's and grandchildren's homes.
A thoughtful observer and avid reader, Eveline listened with care and spoke with clarity. Her soft-spoken manner reflected a clear, steady mind and a kind heart. Those who knew her were encouraged by her calm presence and practical wisdom.
Faith anchored Eveline's life. A devout Christian, she was a longtime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Millersburg. She served the church she loved with dedication, working for many years as church secretary, financial secretary, and council secretary - often simultaneously - quietly doing the work that helped ministry flourish.
In 1953, Eveline married George W. Hamilton. They shared 32 years of marriage until his passing.
Eveline is survived by three daughters: Christine Lynch and husband Terry of Halifax; Penny Hamilton of Richmond, VA; and Georgianne Kobel and husband William of Millersburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Micah Lynch of Halifax; Michaela Austin and husband Steven of Orlando, FL; Lauren Kobel and companion Peter Simpson of Baltimore, MD; Anthony Kobel and wife Emily and great-grandson Emmitt of Towson, MD; as well as her sister, Anite Metzger of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George.
Those who loved Eveline will remember her quiet strength, her devotion to family and church, and the way she made others feel seen and cared for. Her legacy is one of faith, kindness, and steadfast love. May her memory be a blessing.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd. - Millersburg from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM and she will be laid to rest at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 324 North Street, Millersburg, PA 17061.
