DORNSIFE - Mary Jane Snyder, age 89, of Dornsife, Pennsylvania, was reunited with her beloved husband Mark and joined her heavenly home on October 18, 2025, at Bradford Manor in Bradford, PA.
Born on May 12, 1936, in Danville, PA, Mary was the daughter of the late Henry Morris and Verna (Murray) Oberlin. She attended school through the eighth grade before beginning work in various sewing factories in Selinsgrove, PA.
On May 12, 1956, Mary married the love of her life, Mark Darwin Snyder. The two met at a roller rink, where Mary proudly taught Mark how to roller skate. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and hard work. Mary dedicated her young adulthood to raising their six children while Mark worked long hours tending the fields of their family farm.
Though small in stature, she was remarkably strong in both spirit and body. Mary had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile that was always adorned with lipstick. She took great joy in her grandchildren, watching them play on the farm. She would give them old cookware to play with outdoors, and on rainy days, she encouraged them to color and paint on the foyer walls instead of on paper.
Mary was well known in her community for her immaculate flower gardens-she was always building new stone flower beds from hand. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds year-round from her gardens, always with a cup of tea in hand. During Christmastime, she and Mark decorated their farmhouse with brilliant light displays. Mary's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was an attendee of the First Baptist Church in Trevorton, PA, where she found fellowship and comfort among her church family.
Mary is survived by her five children, Daniel and Debbie Snyder, Brian Snyder, Pamela and Jim Grexon, David Snyder and Rick Mooney, and Kathy Snyder and Mike Mensch; thirteen grandchildren, Luke, Kristin, Jeremy, Marcie, Charity, Jesse, Jayme, Jennifer, Janelle, Jessica, Mark, Sean and Yannick; twenty-one great-grandchildren Stevie, Emily, Olivia, Charlotte, Issac, Emory, Scarlet, Finn, Reagan, Mackenzie, Joshua, Jacob, Brayden, Ian, Kaylee, Alison, Caleb, Christian, Jaxon, Anistyn, and Haven; her brother Richard Oberlin and sister Barbara Walborn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Mark, sisters Peggy Oberlin and Irene Walter, and brothers Morris Oberlin and Tommy Oberlin.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd. in Millersburg. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Daniel Conklin officiating. Burial will follow at Hunter Station Cemetery.
In addition to flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association to support Alzheimer's and Dementia care and research.
