Indianapolis, Indiana – Terrance J. Sedinger, 85, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024, after being comforted by family. He will be deeply missed.
Terry was born in Beech Grove, Indiana, on September 8, 1938, to parents James Henry Sedinger and Levera (Saunders) Sedinger. Terry attended Beech Grove High School and after graduating he joined the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. Afterwards, he worked for over 40 years at Capital City Iron Works, retiring as the shop foreman.
An outdoorsman at heart, Terry grew up in the Boy Scouts of America and eventually became an Eagle Scout. He loved camping, boating, and fishing. He was also an avid bowler, a member of the Professional Bowlers Association's 700 series club with a top score of 299. Also, a celebrated mechanic who loved to work on cars, especially Mercedes. He enjoyed working on just about anything and would often do so for friends and family just for the joy of the work.
Terry’s real passion though was for his family. A quiet and serious man, whose handshake was a promise, everyone knew Terry would be there for them when they needed him. Terry was a faithful member of the Whiteland New Life Fellowship Church of God where he served as an usher for many years. He loved the Lord Jesus and his church family. He would have done anything for them.
Terrance was preceded in death by his parents.
Terry leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra (Church) Sedinger, children Teresa Flowers and James G. Sedinger (Rhonda), siblings Nancy Turk (Jerry) and Sue Delor (Phil); grandchildren Tara Houchin (Matt), Brad Sedinger (Krystal), Ty Flowers (Shayla), and Matthew Sedinger (Victoria); 6 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) from 4 pm – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11 am, with Pastor James Sedinger presiding. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial donations be made to The New Life Fellowship Church of God (720 Main Street, Whiteland, Indiana 46184). Whiteland New Life Fellowship (whitelandnewlifecog.com)
