Terrance “Terry” Davczyk, 79, Mosinee, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Terry was born and raised in Peplin, WI in 1945. After graduation from Mosinee High School, he married his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Barbara. The couple then moved to Milwaukee where Terry graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1971. He went on to become a very successful trial attorney at a large Milwaukee firm and operated as the firm’s president until he moved back to the Wausau area to be closer to his family.
In 2003, Terry was one of the founding members of the Wausau law firm of Davczyk & Varline, LLC, where he practiced alongside his son until his retirement. He counted many clients and co-workers among his closest friends.
Terry treasured spending time with family and friends. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by his wife, kids, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was filled with pride at their accomplishments whether it be in school, sports, work or life.
Terry was a man of many interests. He hunted every fall, rode snowmobiles in the winter, fished every spring and drove with the top down in the summer. He enjoyed a church picnic, dancing the polka, going out for Friday fish fry, a vodka gimlet (with two olives) and finished with a good cigar. Any spare time was spent riding his tractor at the farm or relaxing at the lake.
He will be remembered and missed by his wife, Barbara (Weyer) Davczyk; his sister Arlene (Eugene) Pietrzykowski; his son Spencer (Jen) Davczyk, and grandchildren, Payton, Carson, Reagan and Alyson Davczyk; his daughter Amber (Dave) Munson, and grandchildren Tre (Cortney) and Zach Munson, and his great granddaughter, Eleanor.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Enick and Mary (Sitko) Dawiedczyk, and his sister Lorraine (Rodney) Sawlsville.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
