Terrance Vinton Yokom

Terrance Vinton Yokom age 70 of Bemidji, MN died March 14, 2024 at Neilson Place in Bemidji.

Terry was born January 22, 1954 in Moorhead, MN to Vinton and Donna (Lockhart) Yokom. He grew up on a farm near Glyndon, MN until his sophomore year when the family moved to Fargo. He graduated from Fargo North High School and then attended NDSU, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Education. He taught farm management in Medina and Cooperstown, ND until 1985. He then started his banking career at Security Bank (Bank Forward). Terry was a certified farm appraiser from 1986-2016. Terry and Diane were married in Cooperstown, ND in 1986, where they made their home. In 1998 they moved to Frazee, MN, where Terry was employed by Farm Credit Services in Detroit Lakes, MN. They moved to Barnesville, MN, where he worked for Midwest Bank from 2000 – 2008. He ended his career in Kerkhoven, MN with Financial Security Bank in 2016. Terry and Diane moved to Bemidji in 2018.

Terry served on many boards during his banking career. He was a member of the Lions. He helped coach track, basketball, and other sports his kids were involved in. Terry enjoyed all outside activities, including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and time spent at the cabin on Ottertail Lake. He was also a huge NDSU Bison fan!! Terry’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by Diane, of Detroit Lakes, MN; son Bryce (Uyen) Yokom, of Big Lake, MN; daughter, McKensie Yokom (Kenny Eide), of St. Paul, MN; son in law, Jon (Heather) Chandler, of Bemidji, MN; daughter, Stacia Zimprich, of Jamestown, MN; grandchildren, Hattie, Isaac, Marissa, Charlie Sue, Avery, Maverick, Taylin, and Cassdon; sister, Peggy (Mike) Osmundson; and brother, Bill (Cat) Yokom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and step daughter Katie Chandler.
