Terrell Simpson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sosebee Funeral Home on Aug. 26, 2024.
Terrell Eugene (Gene) Simpson was born November 4, 1937, in Bartow County, Georgia. He attended Smithfield Grammar School and then graduated from Cass High School, after which he moved to Atlanta. He attended Georgia Tech University before enrolling in the I.B.E.W. Local 613 Apprenticeship School and graduating from their 5-year program as a Master Electrician. He retired from the I.B.E.W. 613 after 44 years to enjoy his golden years with Peggy and his family. For Gene, taking care of and spending time with his family (and his dogs) were joyful priorities throughout his life.
Gene lived his life in service to the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Canton Church of Christ from 1968 to 1986, where he also served as an elder. From 1986 until his death, he served faithfully as a member of the Woodstock Church of Christ.
Gene is preceded in death by his father Gilbert Eugene Simpson, mother Maude Ann Simpson (Pickelsimer). He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy, his four daughters: Debbie McClendon (Steven), Felicia Kyle (Mark), Cheryl Simpson, and Heather Simpson, 4 grandchildren: Michael McClendon (Jennifer), Tim McClendon, Sydney Kyle, Evan Kyle, and 5 great grandchildren: Adam, Jonathan, Leigha, Hudson and Cooper: 2 sisters, Christine LeViner and Andrea Lee: 3 nephews and 4 nieces: as well as many grand nephews and grand nieces.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Mark Kyle officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service.
