Terrence P. Dunne "Terry", 64, of Battle Ground, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 with his family by his side.
He was born on July 3, 1960 in Summit, New Jersey to the late John Joseph II and Lorraine (Mardany) Dunne. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Dunne.Terry graduated from Summit High School in 1978 and then received his Bachelor of Arts from Kean University in New Jersey where he was a nationally ranked goalie in Lacrosse and held the record of 42 saves in one game.
Professionally Terry excelled in medical sales at Philips Healthcare for 13 years.
On January 13, 2007 he married Carmen Helena Gonzalez at St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church in Summit, NJ; she survives.
He was an active parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, a member of Knights of Columbus and the Lafayette Country Club.
Terry inspired Teeny's love of language and music, and through his example taught her the power of forgiveness. Terry was known to have a unique sense of humor that he passed on to his daughters. As a Star Wars fan, his daughter Emily affectionately would call him "Rebel Scum." For over ten years Terry directed "Invitation to Peace" retreats for St. Teresa of Avila where he also sang in the Cantabo Choir. He wrote Christian songs with a country twang, delivering Christ's message through his songs. Terry also enjoyed dancing, golfing, and Marvel movies but most of all enjoying the company of his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Carmen "Menena" Gonzalez of Battle Ground; his children, Colleen Patricia "Teeny" Dunne of Golden, CO and Emily Kate Dunne of Battle Ground; his siblings, John Joseph (Carol) Dunne III of Southborough, MA, Kevin Timothy (Mary) Dunne of Charlotte, NC, Kathleen (Peter) Dempsey of Morristown, NJ, Shelia Dunne of Chatham, NJ, Owen (Gwynne) Dunne of Denver, NC, and James Steven (Norma) Dunne of Noblesville, IN. Also surviving are his in laws, Alvaro and Irene Gonzalaz; his brother-in-law, Felipe (Adriana) Gonzalaz; sister-in-law, Patricia (Richard) Heritier; and 11-d-million nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Fisher Funeral Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament with Rev. Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Boniface Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to or the (please note on form that donation is for the 1242 Child Life Program at Arnett Hospital) in loving memory of Terry.
