GRIFFIN, Dr. Terrence J. DMD Age 80, of Milton, MA, formerly of Lowell, son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Purtell) Griffin, died on December 31, 2025, at Dwyer House in Weymouth. Dr. Griffin was the former Chair of the Department of Periodontology and Director of Postdoctoral Periodontology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and maintained a large private practice in Boston. Visiting Hours: Friends may call on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 276 Pawtucket St., LOWELL, MA. His Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12 p.m., at St. Margaret's of Scotland Church, 374 Stevens St., Lowell, MA. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell, MA. Terry was our clínical instructor at TUFTS University. He taught us so much and at the same time he brought us every day an invaluable atmosphere. He was really special After the graduation we have maintained a great friendship. This is a big loss. My sincere condolences to his entire family.

100s of Periodontists trained under Dr Griffin during his time at Tufts. My time under his tutelage in Boston was transformative not just as a doctor but also as a person. We all owe so much to him - he chose each of us and brought us all together. Relationships, education and opportunities that were only possible because of him. For that I will forever be grateful. Ever the perfect blend of professionalism and playfulness, we were fortunate to learn from him and to be in his presence. His wisdom was priceless and only topped by his humor and ability to tell a good story. Like others have said, I will miss the laughter, the meals at Abe & Louie's and certainly the mentor, colleague and friend that was Terry Griffin Jeepers - we miss you

I offer sincere condolences with sadness to the family of Dr. Terrence Griffin.
Terry served as Chair of the Department of Periodontology, as Director of the Postdoctoral Program, and as a member of the Executive Faculty Committee in advancing Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Terry was an outstandingly talented surgeon with a calming personality in patient care, an exceptional teacher, and a mentor in advancing the career of others at the School, national, and international levels.
Terry's dedication to patient care, and teaching will be remembered.
My prayers are with his family.

I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Terry on several golf trips to Ireland. He was an amazing person. His smile and laugh were memorable and his stories were a delight. Whenever I had a business trip to Boston, we met for dinner at Abe and Louie´s. Terry will be missed. My sincere condolences to his boys and their families. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

Terry and I were classmates in PG Periodontology at Tufts. I had the privilege of knowing him all these years. He was talented and one of the finest periodontists I have known. Personally, he was generous and had a sense of humor which I always enjoyed. Although Terry rose to many professional achievements, he showed a humility and kindness that were far more important in his life. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of being a client of Dr. Griffin at his practice in the Back Back Bay for many years. He not provided excellent clinical care, but also made each visit personable with his sense of humor which I greatly appreciated. May he be at peace.
