It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terri Avilla at the age of 59, following a courageous and enduring battle with cancer. Terri passed away peacefully, surrounded by those she loved, on August 22.
Born on February 15, 1966, to Nancy and Richard Lundeen. Terri was a loving daughter, sister, mother, Grammy and partner. Her vibrant spirit and warmth touched all who knew her. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Ashley Avilla, who was the light of her life and the center of her world and two grandchildren Landon and Jack Wallace who she cherished with her whole heart. Terri's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to live on through her.
Terri was lovingly cared for by her partner, Rob Counts, who stood by her side throughout her journey. Rob was not only her devoted caregiver but also her travel companion, confidant, and the love of her life. Together, they created many beautiful memories, from quiet evenings at home to adventures near and far. Their bond was a testament to the deep connection they shared.
Terri was also a cherished sister to her two brothers Richard (Kim) Lundeen and Tom (Becky) Lundeen of Iowa and two sisters Jackie Ledbetter and Bonnie (Daniel) Carden of California. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law and lifelong friend Lori Avilla Brown and lifelong friend Teri Israel; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Her family meant everything to her, and she found great joy in the time they spent together. Her strength and unwavering support for her loved ones were constant throughout her life.
Although she faced immense challenges in her final years, Terri's resilience, optimism, and love for those around her never wavered. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her laughter, and her incredible ability to make those around her feel loved and valued and her spunky sassy whit. Her spirit will be missed, but the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral services are scheduled for August 27, at 3:00 p.m., family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
May she rest in peace, her legacy forever cherished.
