Terrace D. Dinehart-Zimmerman, affectionately known as Terri, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in St. Joseph, Michigan, due to natural causes. Born on July 13, 1946, in
Jasper, Indiana, Terri was the vibrant daughter of the late James and Marydean (Kraft) Warthen. Her life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and service, woven through the years with the threads of family, faith, and friendship.
Terri's early years in Jasper were filled with the bustling energy of a large family. Though she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Zimmerman, whom she married in July of 2005, and her siblings Rodney Warthen, Rick Warthen, Timothy Warthen, Dawn Randell, and Shelly Guard, her spirit was carried on through her cherished children, Simone (Patrick) Coyne, Simonette (James) Snyder, Samara (Jeremey) Ritchie, and Trever Ottman (Ruth Ann Dull). Terri was the proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to a host of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Darznieks, and her brother, Jeff Jones-Nelson (Tom Nelson), along with many adoring nieces and nephews.
Terri dedicated many years of her life to her career as a shipping and receiving clerk, where her diligence and warm personality made her a favorite among her colleagues.
Those who knew Terri will fondly remember her for her passion for making floral arrangements-a talent that brought beauty to many occasions. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her enjoyment of long drives, which often led to spontaneous adventures and cherished memories. Terri's home was a haven during the holidays, filled with the aroma of her amazing cookies, and her greeting cards, sent with love for each holiday, were a testament to her thoughtfulness.
Terri's love for life was infectious, and her sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around her. She could often be found watching her favorite game shows, a pastime that provided not only entertainment but also moments of connection with family and friends. Terri's spirit was one of generosity and kindness, and her legacy is one of love and laughter that will continue to echo in the hearts of those she touched.
Memorial contributions may be made in Terri's memory to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan at 5400 Niles Road, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
