Terril Dennis Devlin, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025. Born on March 27, 1950, in Oroville, California, Terril was the beloved son of Thomas Joseph Devlin and Edith Lyle (Wallen) Devlin.
Known to friends and family as "Terry," he was raised in Chico, California, where he attended local schools and later graduated from Butte Junior College in Durham, CA, earning an Associate of Arts degree. Terry was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures-he had a lifelong love for fishing, hunting, and horseback riding, and cherished the outdoors. Terry loved his country and served 20 years between the Navy and the Army.
On November 15, 1971 in Reno, Nevada, Terry married the love of his life, Diana Lynn (Hutchison) Devlin. Together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, a journey filled with deep love, laughter, and a shared devotion to the many pets who became their children. Terry had a special bond with each of them, and they brought great joy and companionship into his life.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Diana Devlin; his sister, Kathleen (Devlin) Powell of Chico, CA; his brothers, Kevan K. William of Ivins, UT, Mark Barker of Gallatin, Tennessee, and Ephraim Barker of Chico, CA; and by his cherished animal companions: Izzy, Misty, Puppy, Socks, Stubby, Popsicle, DC, and Munchkin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 17, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at 625 East Center Street, Ivins, UT 84738. Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT. (435-673-2454)
At a later date, a seven-gun salute will take place at the Ivins Cemetery to honor both Terril's and Diana's military service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terry's memory to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah-an organization close to his heart.
