Terry Lee Backus

Terry Lee Backus 68, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was a resident of Hendersonville, TN.

Terry was born April 10, 1956 in Astoria, Oregon, he was the son of the late Howard Martin Backus and Joyce Marilyn Backus. From a very early age Terry had a love for music. Terry spent his life in the radio business, DJ at many top stations across the country. Retiring from Radio Terry continued his music career writing music and singing at writer nights around Nashville and most recently found joy singing for the Senior Citizens centers. He also had a career as a Truck driver traveling through the United States and recently retired from Ryder Trucks in Nashville, TN. Terry had a deep love for his family, friends, music, water and nature. Being a friend to Terry meant you were a part of something very wonderful. Love from Terry meant you will be loved for the rest of your life, as Terry had the biggest heart. “Sing out your glory, glory.”

Terry is survived by his sister Brenda Slanga Day (husband Buddy Day) of Columbia, Brother David Martin Backus. His niece Megan Joyce McGee , son in law Sean McGee. His nephew Caiden Riley McGee, Harper Grae McGee of Columbia.
