Terry E. Badtke, age 74, of Brandon Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Waupun Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 13, 1949 in Fond du Lac, the Son of Edwin and Hazel (Weidner) Badtke. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1967 and immediately joined the U.S. Army, 598th Maintenance Company where he was stationed in Alaska.
He repaired military tanks during the Vietnam War. After the military he received a certificate in Ford Automotive Training from the Ford Factory. He worked in several automotive companies during his lifetime, and owned Terry’s Repair Shop for 30 years. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the Brandon Fire Department for many years. Terry enjoyed restoring old vehicles with his uncle, playing softball, and golfing with his buddies. He loved going to car shows, watching the Packers, completing puzzles, and having a cold beer at Mel’s Bar and Grill.
He is survived by his two sons Troy (Lynn) Badtke, and Brad Badtke; two grandchildren, Brianna (Joseph) Moyer, and Blake (fiancé Rachel) Badtke; one great grandson, Damon; sisters, Mary Ann Waskow, Sharon Kohnke, Cathy Wantz, Barbara Strook, Nancy Fenner; brother, Robert Badtke; brother-in-law, Arden Kauss.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Edwin Badtke and Hazel Wirkus; sister, Sandra Kauss; brothers-in-law Richard Fenner, Jim Kohnke, Dale Strook; uncle Leonard Weidner; 3 nephews and 1 niece.
A private inurnment will take place at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
Please join Terry’s family for a celebration of life on October 22, 2023 at Mel’s Bar and Grill in Brandon Wisconsin from 1:00-4:00 PM.
A memorial is being established in Terry’s name.
