Terry Van Bissette, age 65, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away September 26, 2025 after an extended illness.
Terry is survived by his wife Phyllis Martin Bissette and sons Christopher Bissette (Karla) and Noah Bissette, mother Brenda Whitley, sisters Wanda Murphy (Dennis) and Karen Tew (Randy) and sisters-in-law Cindy Martin, Stephanie Mccord (Todd) and nieces Chloe Mann (Bart), Lindsey Mizelle (Joe) and nephews Riley Mccord and Cole Tew.
Terry was preceded in death by Macdonald Bissette, Douglas Whitley, Seth and Jonathan Mitchell.
Terry was a loving husband and loved helping others. He served at Free Chapel as an usher, sound assistant, shuttle driver and grilling master for events. Terry served as a foster parent for three years in Forsyth County. His commitment to serving influenced his son Chris to follow in his footsteps in volunteering from a young age. Terry was very proud that this led to a career for Christopher who serves as Production Manager for Calvary Church in Orlando Florida. Noah shared Terry's love of sports and he was ever by Noah's side through many years of playing baseball and basketball, encouraging him to be his best.
Service will be held at 11 am October 8th at his hometown of Middlesex, North Carolina at Midpoint Church. The service will be a livestream for those unable to attend in person and can be accessed at the time of the service through midpointchurch.org or through facebook: MidPoint Church/Middlesex NC.
