Terry Blackwill, 51, of Norton, KS, passed away in an unexpected tragic accident on February 11, 2025.
Terry was born on January 7, 1974, in Quinter, KS to Floyd Blackwill and Judy Nelson-Blackwill. He graduated from high school in 1992. After that Terry followed his passion for driving trucks. He enjoyed going to the lake and was an avid Oregon Ducks fan.
Terry hauled cattle for almost 30 years. He drove for Blackwill & Sons and Mitten Trucking the majority of his trucking career. He was well known as "Alley Cat" by many. Many said Terry was one of the last old school drivers around. Terry was always pulling a prank, telling a joke, or picking on someone. He loved to laugh and joke around. He would do anything for anyone that asked. If you were his friend, you knew he had your back.
In 2008, Terry met Shauna and he gained four children, which he took in as his own. They were his life until he became a papa. He spoiled his grandkids ridiculously; he could never tell any of them no. He always made Nana be the bad guy. He loved doing everything with his family. Terry and Shauna were inseparable, they spent most of their 17 years together, never apart. They trucked together, worked for the county, and then at Garretts just so they could have every chance they could have to be together. Where one was, the other was. Shauna always said Terry was her winning lottery ticket.
Terry is survived by his wife of 13 years, Shauna; children: Andy (Haley) Huffman, Brandi (Turaj) Benford, Colter (Taylor) Stoll, and Dalton Stoll; parents, Floyd Blackwill and Judy Nelson; siblings: Tom (Terra) Blackwill, Keith (Melesia) Blackwill, and Sandi (Dallas) Ambruster, and 10 grandchildren: Ryan, Kohlson, Shaya, Nathaniel, Natalie, and Wrenley Huffman, Ramsey and Cameron Benford, and Adylyn and Deakyn Stoll; parents-in-law, Reggie (Patty) Beckman and Nancy Scott; sister-in-law, Jill Blackwill, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Blackwill, Jr., brother-in-law, Nathan Beckman, and stepmother, Darla Blackwill.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 21, 2025 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Terry Blackwill Memorial Fund and sent in care of Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home, 215 W. Main St., Norton, KS 67654. Condolences may be left at www.plumergobber.com
