Mr. Terry Ray Boyd, Jr., 45, of Weldon, North Carolina.
On March 7, 2025, at ECU Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina, Terry Ray Boyd, Jr., 45, transitioned to be with the Lord. Terry Ray Boyd, Sr. and Veflisa Boyd welcomed him into the world on August 22, 1979, in Pitt County, North Carolina.
Terry accepted Christ at an early age. Terry was recognized for his enthusiasm for football from midget to varsity during his time at Weldon City Schools. Terry completed his education at Miracle Tabernacle School in Weldon, North Carolina.
Terry was a man of tremendous passion and kindness, who possessed a keen sense of humor. He was a multi-talented individual who notably enjoyed hands-on labor, particularly in landscape care. His love for people and laughter was infectious, and he had a special way of making those around him smile. Terry was a computer enthusiast who created his own gaming community in which he united passionate players from all parts of the world in skill gaming. Terry enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and always found ways to bring joy into their lives.
Terry is survived by his devoted parents: Veflisa Boyd of Weldon, NC and Terry Ray Boyd, Sr. (Gloria) of Garysburg, NC; his brothers: Aundrae Boyd of Weldon, NC, Orinthia Bennett (Tanya) of Halifax, NC, Donte' Boyd of Garysburg, NC; and his sister: Kellie Baker (Keon) of Morrisville, NC; loving uncles: Anthony Taylor (Cassandra) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Paul Taylor (Monique) of Durham NC, Lewis Boyd (Jean) of Durham, NC, Travado Taylor of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Samuel Taylor of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Otha Taylor (Beverly) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Philmore Taylor (Elizabeth) of Plainfield, NJ; Terry was cherished by a special great-aunt: Daisy Wilson of McCormick, SC, Louise Graham of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Georgia Boyd of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Terry had a special love for Sylvia Robinson of Roanoke Rapids, NC, who was like a second mother to him.
Terry shared a deep love and was deeply loved by his niece: Destiny Boyd, who he affectionally called, "Bug", and nephew: Aundrae Boyd, Jr. whom he called "Chipmunk", Jace O'Brian Baker of Morrisville, NC, Orinthia Bennett, Jr., and Onesha Bennett of Halifax, NC; and other loving relatives, cousins and friends.
Terry had a fondness for children, which was evident in how they gravitated toward him. Terry's heart was as pure as gold, and he will be remembered for his kindness. Terry leaves a legacy of compassion, humor, and affection for those to remember.
A Visitation for Mr. Terry R. Boyd, Jr., will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of H D Pope Funeral Home, 520 Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina 27870. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Community Church of Christ, No. 2, 32 Graham-Scott Road, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina 27870.
