Terry R. Calvi, 75, of Kingsford, MI, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Henderson Hospital in Henderson, NV.
Terry was born in Iron Mountain, MI, on October 19, 1949, son of the late Robert Calvi and Catherine (Tippett) Porter. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1967, before earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Northern Michigan University. A lifelong resident of the area, Terry worked as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years before retiring. He married Sandra J. Bray on August 23, 1986, in Vulcan. Terry loved sports and enjoyed bowling as well as playing baseball, horseshoes, bocce and golf. He was an avid Detroit Lions, Red Wings, Tigers and University of Michigan fan. Terry loved gardening and took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens. His favorite time of the year was Christmas and he enjoyed everything about it. Shopping (local & out of town), baking, wrapping presents, decorating the house inside & out, and being with his family were among his favorite things.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; his son, Tyler Calvi of Kingsford; three grandchildren, Kashton, Carson and Tristan; 2 sisters-in-law, Sally Hampton and Patricia (Galen) Steffel; several nieces and nephews; many friends and his dog, Rascal.
In addition to his father and mother, Terry was also preceded in death by his step-father, Kenneth "Hib" Porter; a great-nephew, Aidan Bolek; and a sister-in-law, Marsha Bray.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, January 10 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the church. Rev. James Danielson will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
