Terry G. Gage
of Owego
Terry G. Gage, a man known for his infectious laughter, artistic talent, and compassionate nature, left this world to paint the skies on May 12, 2024, at the age of 56.
Born on December 18, 1967, in Johnson City, NY, Terry's life was one filled with joy, creativity, and love. He passed away at his home in Owego, surrounded by the memories he cherished and adored.
After graduating from Tioga Central High School in 1986, where he excelled as a star athlete, Terry's path in life was as vibrant and varied as his interests. He played football, baseball, and ran track, sharing these experiences with his childhood friend Gene LaPlante. It was during these formative years that he met his future wife, Tammy L. Zorn, who was not just a neighbor but became his lifelong companion and the one he affectionately called "McKinnee."
For nearly 23 years, Terry dedicated his professional life to Lockheed Martin in Owego, where he worked as a Senior Operations Specialist. His commitment to his career was paralleled only by his dedication to his family, which included his beloved wife, Tammy; his son, Derrick Gage; his mother, Doris Serrano; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael "Mickey" and Michelle Gage; his stepson, Travis (Samantha) Moyer; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Brian and Pat Zorn, and Lewis and Cheryl Zorn; Brenda Gage, the mother of his son; and several nephews and nieces, among them Lisa and Destiny. His feline companion, Clover "Beanie," also held a special place in his heart. He joins in peace his father, Robert Gage, and his grandparents, Grandma Kutcha and Grandma Gage, who predeceased him.
Terry's interests were as broad and colorful as his personality. A talented painter and artist, he found joy in the act of creation, whether he was crafting a new piece or simply sketching for the love of it. His fervor for art was matched by his passion for sports. An avid fan of the Oakland Raiders, Terry also coached his son in little league and loved to watch soccer, enjoying the camaraderie and excitement that came with each game.
Known for his sense of humor, Terry was a practical jokester who loved to make people smile. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and his friendly demeanor made him well-loved. Those who knew him will remember his compassion, his great sense of style, and the kindness that he extended to all.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Terry embodied this sentiment, leaving a legacy of laughter, love, and a world made brighter by his presence.

Terry was our practical joker at work. He used to do something to my stapler so it would staple everything the wrong way. We were coworkers but Friends too ! He will be missed. Prayers to your family !
