Terry-Jo J. Gibson (Terry), of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 77 years, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital, Mobile, AL. Her cancer was a complete surprise, and she survived a very short time after its discovery. She was a resident of Daphne, AL for the last 20 years after moving from Wisconsin for retirement. She was born on September 10, 1947, at The Evangelical Deaconess Hospital of Milwaukee, WI to the late proud parents, Elmer J. Brunner, Jr. and Mary J. Brunner (nee Kellison)
Terry graduated from Granville High School, Granville, WI in 1965. After graduation she worked at ATT in Milwaukee and Allis Chalmers in West Allis, WI.
Terry was married for 57+ years to the love of her life, Thomas W. Gibson (Tom) on August 26, 1967, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Thiensville, WI. Tom and Terry are the loving parents to two beautiful daughters, Shelly A. Niebler (spouse, Craig Niebler) of Oconomowoc WI and Jodie N. McGowan (spouse, BJ McGowan) of Germantown WI. Terry and Tom are also the proud grandparents of Benjamin T. Niebler and Natalie M. Niebler, both of Oconomowoc, WI. Terry is also survived by two brothers, Mark Brunner and James Brunner and two sisters, Lyndy Jacob and Heidi Beaudoin.
Terry enjoyed traveling, cooking, entertaining and sharing a good laugh. Her passion was cooking where she prepared fabulous recipes. She had a great sense of humor. Her love of life and people was infectious. To know her was to love her. She fiercely loved her family and never wanted to miss a thing in their lives. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren grow and mature.
Terry also enjoyed riding on the back of Tom's Harley where they crisscrossed the country, Wisconsin and Canada. Many miles and many smiles. Terry was also very active with exercise and walking. She attended the Bounds Family YMCA in Daphne four days a week continuously for the last 20 years where she met many friends and acquaintances.
A Celebration of Terry's life will be held later for family and friends.
Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.

Terry will be sorely missed for her wit, beautiful smile and expert motorcycle passenger riding skills as well as a great wife and mother. Numerous rides and laughs shared while being members of the West Bend HOG Chapter. Being 1/2 of the TNT riding duo, no one can say she didn't look great on the back of that Harley. She is now in HEAVEN making friends and saving a special for Tom. Miss you Terry!!!!!

Growing up next door to The Gibsons in Wisconsin I had a healthy dose of Mrs. Gibson´s kindness and quick wit throughout my childhood. I have many happy memories from backyard shenanigans to camping trips at Bear Lake. She was a wonderful human. Sending hugs and love to her family.

Our hearts are broken to have lost our dear friend Terry. She was a special person in so many ways. We had a lot of fun together when they lived in Wisconsin. When they moved to Alabama we would call each other on Saturday nights at 5:00 p.m. and have a cocktail together while we talked on the phone. She had a great sense of humor was a very loving person and wonderful cook. She will be missed by so many people. Our Deepest Sympathy goes out to Tom, Shelly, Craig, Ben, Natalie, Jodie and BJ. Sincerely Bill and Susie Gilson

My Sister Terry... She had a way of tickling your heart with her love and her laughter. As a child she took me camping for the first time with her daughter Shelly, Jodie hadn't come along yet. And I spent endless hours with her family. We shared so much laughter and love. Tom and Terry became my inspirations and 2nd parents. Shelly and Jodie my sister/nieces. How grateful and fortunenate a life lived with a woman like Terry in it. She lives on in our hearts. In our minds eye. Love you!
P.S. you made the BEST spaghetti ever!

God bless you, Terry, I know you probably can´t read this because the Wi-Fi in Heaven is terrible, which makes it heaven. Thank you for being a loving cousin and a good friend. May you rest in peace in the bosom of our most merciful God and Savior Jesus the Christ. At this holy week, we remember you in our prayers and especially the Gibson family and the Brunner family -bless Grandma and Grandpa Brunner when you see them at the brighter shore -I teased you that grandma Brunner loved you best because you were the first grandchild of her 23 grandchildren. She was rarely wrong. All our prayers and condolences with love, Tommy cousin and Jennifer, Chicago.
