Terry Harris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Phoenix on Jan. 31, 2026.
Terry Shawn Harris, a cherished husband, father, grandfather (papa), and friend, passed away on January 23, 2026 following a sudden car accident in Glendale, AZ. Born on July 25, 1960 in Sewickley, PA, Terry's life was a testament to his strong Christian faith and the love he held for his family and friends. His intelligence, selflessness, and sense of humor were the pillars upon which he built a life of meaningful relationships and community service. Reading, traveling, relaxing on the beach, fishing, and immersing himself in nature were among his favorite pastimes- activities that allowed him to appreciate the beauty of God's creation and the simple pleasures of life.

Terry studied Business and Communications at Robert Morris College before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, where he dedicated nearly 30 years of his professional life to Nabisco as a Sales Representative. His work ethic and personable nature made him a favorite among colleagues and clients alike. He later transitioned to the Internet Sales department at Sanderson Ford, where he continued to exhibit his remarkable ability to connect with people for an additional 12 years. His contributions to the workplace were not just about business; they were about fostering a sense of camaraderie and support that many will sorely miss.

Terry's Christian faith was steadfast. He lived his life as a reflection of Christ's love, embodying the virtues of kindness and generosity in every action. His involvement in his church community was not merely a duty but a joy, as he found peace and purpose in the fellowship and service of others.

Beyond his professional and religious commitments, Terry's heart was truly at home when he was with his beloved family. His wife of 43 years, Kim Harris, was his partner in all things, sharing in the joys and challenges of life together. His children, Shalane and Shawn Harris, were his pride and joy, and he instilled in them the values of faith, integrity, and humor. Terry's daughter-in-law, Karla, and grandsons, Everett and Bennett, added immeasurable happiness to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He leaves behind a legacy marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a life lived in service to others. The memories of his intelligence, selflessness, and humor will continue to inspire and comfort all who were blessed to know him.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Terry´s passing. I had the privilege of working alongside him for nearly 20 years, and he was more than just a coworker, he was a genuinely good person and a friend who taught me a lot over the years. I have shared a few photos that capture moments we shared at work and reflect the warmth, dedication, and steady presence he brought with him every day. Terry was a loving and devoted father, a respected employee, and someone who made a lasting impact on everyone around him. He will be truly missed. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
