Peggy Lou Brown, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 81 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on July 19, 1944, to Harold and Nora (Keller) Hines in South Bend, Indiana, where she married the love of her life, Barry Thomas Brown. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family. Barry preceded her in death, and she carried his memory with her always.

Peggy is survived by her three children: Kim (Scott) Runyan, Kevin (Karen) Brown, and Karrie (Scott) Von Heldt. She was a proud grandmother to Ian Runyan, Shane Runyan and Anaya Von Heldt, and great-grandmother to Renesmee Runyan. She also leaves behind her sisters, Wanda Vanderboegh, Ruby Southworth, and Linda Edholm, who shared a close bond with her

throughout their lives. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Oliver and brother Alford Hines.

For most of her life, Peggy was a selfless caretaker who always put her family first. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren, delighting in their growth and accomplishments. Peggy had a creative spirit and loved decorating her home, bringing warmth and comfort to her surroundings. She was also an enthusiastic Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fan, cheering with passion and joy, and she loved to dance. Peggy's gentle heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.

Her family was her greatest joy, and the warmth she shared will continue to live on through them.

She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
