Terry M. Hart, 84, of Humboldt, passed away Saturday morning, November 4, 2023, in the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
Terry was born September 8, 1939 in Fort Dodge, the son of Emory Willard and Kathryn (Collins) Hart. He was raised and educated on the family farm in Lake Township, attending a one room schoolhouse in the township and graduating from Humboldt High School in 1957. Terry was united in marriage to Virginia A. Wig on June 29, 1963. The couple farmed in rural Humboldt and moved in to town in 1994. Terry worked for almost 20 years at Chantland Manufacturing, retiring in 2003. In retirement, Terry worked in the fall with Ken Nielsen doing farm work. He was a member of the Jaycees, Humboldt County Historical Association and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards and visiting with his friends. He especially enjoyed activities with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Virginia of Humboldt, his children; Sheila Schneider of LaMott, Iowa, Maria (Kendall) Heetland of North Aurora, Illinois and James (Katerina) Hart of West Des Moines, his grandchildren; Ashley, Sean, Kaia and Juno, his sisters Paula (Dale) Arends of Humboldt and Jill (Lynn) Bishop of Fort Myers, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Eric.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8th at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charitable discretion of the family. www.masonlindhart.com
