Harvey Terry Hawkins, 79, of Newberry, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Newberry Health.
Born on June 29, 1946, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Harvey Sease Hawkins and Ethel Ellisor Miller. Terry worked for The Market Basket and retired from Food Lion as the meat market manager. He also operated the Hawkins & Son Deer Processing for 32 years. He was a member of Glory Tabernacle.
He proudly coached little league football and baseball where he mentored many young men in Newberry for a number of years.
Terry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise Cook Hawkins; a son, Brian K. (Brenda) Hawkins of Newberry; daughters, Sheri (David) Tate of Pomaria and Dana (Teddy) Grant of Moore; a brother, Tony (Mary) Hawkins of Newberry; grandchildren, Kirsti (Brandon) Yoder, Alexis (Matt) Austin, Hunter (Emily Garner) Hawkins, Adam Tate, Angel Grant, Israel Grant, Destiny Grant and Chloe Grant and great-grandchildren, Liam Yoder, Declan Yoder and Bennett Yoder due in May.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Glory Tabernacle by the Rev. Joel Mundy and Rev. Jeff O’Dell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at Glory Tabernacle.

Active pallbearers will be Otis Wilson, Eric Harmon, Casey Chapman, Randy Molloy, Tony Hawkins, Jr. and Chad Culbertson.
