Terry Bennett Horne Terry(Buddy) was born on July 5th 1957 in Jacksonville North Carolina to parents the late John and Verna Cayton Horne. Terry is survived by his son, John and his wife McKenzie, their daughter Josie, as well as his daughters Candice and Holly, and his sisters Frances, Bobbie, and Joanne and sisters in law, Ann and Marilyn, He is also survived by John's mother,Regina and her daughter, Stacy and her children Neveah and Leo and Regina's mother, Barbara. Terry grew up the youngest of ten children including those now passed on, Mary (sister), and (brothers)Gorman, Thomas, Owen, Edmond, and William (Bill). Terry was saved at a youth rally when he was seventeen. One of his favorite things to do was watch Duke basketball and Indianapolis Colts football in his recliner with his granddaughter Josie eating Oreos. He loved God and his family and enjoyed his time teaching children's church for The Sanctuary of Jacksonville. Terry was very patriotic and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Terry loved all animals, especially his beagle Dan. Terry loved astronomy and would often look at the stars through his telescope and read astrology magazines. He had a beautiful mind and could always make people laugh; he made his mark on everyone he met. He had many gifts such as cooking and building things. Terry was an amazing soul and will be missed by many, and his legacy will live on through those closest to him. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 27th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Sayland Funeral Home in Maysville with Pastor Pete Lowery officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
