With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Terry Allen Johnson, 70, of Aurora, CO, who passed away at home on May 27, 2024, after a 15-month battle with Glioblastoma (GBM).
Terry was born on December 6, 1953, to Amos and Joan Johnson in Gothenburg, NE. After Terry graduated from Wasson High School, located in Colorado Springs, CO in 1972, he entered the United States Marine Corps and then went on to study Math/Engineering at Santa Monica College. After graduating with a degree in Engineering, he began his career with various Government agencies as a Systems Analyst for 30+ years.
Terry loved hiking and being outdoors, especially with his family. He could be found outside grilling anytime of the year and in any weather – just as long as he had a beer and some music. He was a great husband, father, son, and friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. He always made people feel welcome and cared for whenever he was around. He had a wonderful, quirky sense of humor and always had a smile on his face for people.
Terry is survived by his wife, Celeste; a daughter and four sons and their families; Charles (fiancée Molly and their kids - Isaiah, Emery, and one on the way), Audrey Heard (kids – Patrick and Elizabeth), Anthony, Shawn, and Dakota; his mother, Joan Johnson; and his brother, Jeff Johnson. Terry was predeceased by his father, Amos Johnson.
Services will be held at the Heartlight Center at Horan & McConaty on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for GBM. https://www.gbmresearch.org/donate
