Terry Kirkpatrick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waldo Funeral Home - Sherman on Dec. 26, 2025.
Terry Wayne Kirkpatrick, 84, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on December 23, 2025, with his loving wife, Sharon, at his side. December 31would have been their 63rd anniversary!

Born in McNary, Arizona, Terry was raised on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in the White Mountains of Arizona, the eldest son of eleven. He graduated from Brophy College Preparatory High School and joined the Air Force in 1959. He met and married Sharon in 1962. He graduated in 1970 from the University of Arizona with double bachelor's degrees in Animal Science and Agricultural Education. His career included ranch management and veterinary pharmaceutical sales, retiring from Merck in 2008 to be a full-time grandpa.

Terry was a gregarious person who never met a stranger. His heart was huge and his sense of humor was legendary, bringing joy and life lessons alike. His deep faith was exemplified in all he did and to everyone whose path he crossed.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Hall) Kirkpatrick and their three daughters: Heidi and her husband, Tom Hedrick; Katy and her husband, Jeff Smith; and Bridgette and her husband, Toby Fuhrmann. He was a proud grandfather to Victoria, Eleanor, Stephen, Jacqueline, Kirk, Sutton and Matthew. He enjoyed attending all kinds of events they each participated in.

A rosary will be held at 6 pm, with visitation from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30 at Waldo Funeral Home and the funeral mass will be on Wednesday, December 31 at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church.

Terry's life was defined by faith, family and integrity. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren with these values he personified.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church (mer ilding fund) or to St. Jude’s "in memory of Terry Kirkpatrick"
