Terry Meagher

Terrence Michael Meagher, 66, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday May 3rd, 2024 after giving cancer one helluva fight.
Terry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Andrea Norman Meagher, and his daughters: Grace and her husband Louis Merryman, Anna and her husband Henry Hunt, and Sheila and her fiance Patrick Tobin. He was the proud "Yogi" to Liam and Max Merryman, and Charlie and Lennon Hunt. He is also survived by his brother Billy Meagher (and Nancy), his sister Sheila Meagher Scudder, his sister Kathy Meagher Murray, his brother Patrick Meagher (and Brenna Long), and a very large collection of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he was proud to call his.
Born the 7th of 10 children to Bill and Connie Meagher in Wakefield, MA, Terry moved to the Cape with his big, boisterous family in 1962 and met many of his lifelong friends on Circuit Ave in Hyannis. He grew up working at Hy-Line Cruises where he met his wife Andrea, becoming a captain in 1976. Throughout his life he loved spending time on Ocean Street or out on the water. He loved his girls, his family, the ocean, the Beatles, playing (and winning) Golden Tee, crosswords and watching Boston sports.
In addition to his work at Hy-Line, he spent many years working with his brother, Billy, as a manufacturers representative. In 1990, he formed T. Meagher Associates (the best kept secret was that his young daughters were actually the associates). He was known for being charismatic, witty, and always prepared with a joke. Though perhaps best known for his humor, his daughters (and their friends) will never forget his kitchen counter advice, car ride quizzes on classic rock songs, and his willingness to always give a ride. We're sure he will find ways to continue to correct our grammar.
Terry was grateful for the care he received at Cape Cod Hospital, particularly by Jeffrey Martin, MD and Janet Hartman, RN. Terry's family would also like to acknowledge the great care he received from VNA Hospice of Cape Cod.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 8th from 4-7pm at Chapman Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills, MA. Terry wanted you to know not to worry if you can't make it. He won't be at yours either.
All other services will be private.
