Funeral Services at Comanche Nation Community Center, Walters, OK on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Roger Noland officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home with burial at Deyo Mission Cemetery west of Lawton, OK. A Prayer Service will be held at the Community Center on Monday, September 1, at 6:00 p.m., Rev. Kent Simpson officiating.
Terry Dale Moore was born to Leatrice Moore on February 1, 1963 in Walters, OK and departed this life on August 27, 2025 in Duncan, OK at the age of 62 years, 7 months, and 26 days.
Terry grew up in Walters. He worked in the oilfield for SATS and Teakell Drilling, then went on to work for the Comanche Nation Wildfire Program for a time before hiring on as a hand for Scherler Farms. He moved to Mississippi from 1988-1990 to be with his baby girl, Courtney Leigh. Terry returned to Oklahoma, living in Lawton for 10 plus years while employed at TE Construction. He eventually made it back to Walters, working once again for Scherler Farms.
Terry loved playing pool and participated in a league. He was proud to have won the Coors Light Shootout and threw darts in a league as well. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and riding his motorcycle. He loved his dogs and considered them family. In his younger days, he liked playing basketball and boxing. He was a Golden Gloves 2-Time champ.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Leatrice Moore; his uncle, Willis Nauni; his nephew Chuckie Renegar; and his niece, Carly Nicole Moore.
He is survived by his daughter, Courtney Leigh Runnels of Batesville, MS; his granddaughter Makenzie Autumn Umberger and a great grandchild on the way; his brothers and sisters, Mary and Tony Fannon of Walters, Jimmy and Bethany Moore of Walters, Tommy Moore of Walters, Danny Selby of South Dakota, and Ann Renegar of Walters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
