Terry M. Moritz

TERRY M. MORITZ, 64, of Marcus, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at his home in Marcus, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Military rites will be performed by F.I. Goodburn Post #517 outside the funeral home after the service. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home. Terry was born on January 23, 1961 to George "Buck" and Joan (Leinen) Moritz, Jr. in LeMars, Iowa. He graduated high school and entered into the United States Air Force and was stationed at the 185th Refueling Wing in Sioux City. He was united in marriage on May 29, 1987 to Sherry Weiland, together they had two children, Corey and Brooke.
Terry worked for the 185th Air Guard in Sioux City for 20 years before retiring in 2001. He loved the trucking for Mark Cronin Trucking and farming at Mike Staab's farm. He also worked 17 years for the Ethanol plant in Marcus before retiring.
He was a true family man and enjoyed all the time with his family and grandchildren he could get. He was always the jokester and loved having a Bud Light After work. Terry loved challenging him self, building things with his hands, being outdoors, and loved cars, especially his truck.
He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Moritz, Jr, wife Sherry Moritz, sister Michaela Moritz, mother-in-law and father-in-law Eugene and Teeny Weiland, and brother-in-law John Mai.
Terry will lovingly be remembered by his children, Corey and Becca Moritz of Remsen, Iowa and Brooke Moritz (Matt Ankenman) of Marcus, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Brittany Thelen, Braxton Rutledge, Kallie Moritz, Kora Moritz, Mallory Ankenman, Cohen Hohbach, Kaysen Ankenman, Klayten Ankenman, Myles Miller and Corbin Miller; 3 great grandchildren, Jasper and Emmett Thelen, and Emerson Card; mother Joan Moritz of LeMars, Iowa; siblings, Dave (Kim) Moritz of Cortez, Colorado, Tim (Becky) Limoges of Onawa, Iowa, Gary (Sheri) Moritz of Humboldt, Iowa, Debbie Whitely of LeMars, Iowa, and Sherri Mai of LeMars, Iowa; sisters-in-law Kim (Mark) Cronin of Cherokee, Iowa and Shelly (Kelly) Cronin of Remsen, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
