Terry Martin Muns

Terry Martin Muns, 61, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on July 14th, 2022. Terry was born on August 5th, 1960 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri to Joan Muns (Martin) and James H. Muns and united in marriage to Holly Muns on September 22, 2006.
Terry graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Mass Communication and Marketing, where he became a member of Sigma Epsilon fraternity. After college, he began a career in sales, building and operating a successful insurance agency for many years with American Family Insurance. An entrepreneur at heart, he branched out into business consulting, and most recently helped people choose Medicare plans. He genuinely cared for his clients and worked to develop personal relationships, taking time to get to know them, listen to their needs and offer solutions that best suited them.
If there was one word to describe Terry, it would be "encouraging." Each morning he would send a message of hope and encouragement in the form of scripture, positive quote or just a kind word to family and friends. Terry was a baptized follower of Christ and boldly shared the gospel and his personal testimony. He was confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church where he had served as an elder and Stephen minister.
He had a great love of nature and wildlife, often feeling God's presence in quiet walk or hikes around the area. Terry enjoyed travel and playing golf but often found simple joy in mowing the lawn or sitting on the porch with his wife and enjoying a cup of coffee or a good cigar.
His achievements included earning a Black Belt in Taekwondo and numerous sales awards, but he was most proud of being "Dad" to his biological daughter, Courtney with whom he shared a special bond.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Muns, father, James Muns, as well as his brother John Holt.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Holly Muns, daughters, Courtney Muns and Mallory McWilliams, sisters, Jill Curtis and Shelley McKown, brother-in-law, Marc Kiser, father/mother-in-law, John and Peggy Kiser. He is also survived by nieces, Skyla Sullivan and Olivia Holt and nephews, Demetri Tsakiris and Mitchell Kiser (wife, Darion) as well numerous cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 23rd, 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2852 S. Dayton, Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ozarks Food Harvest or Council of Churches of the Ozarks.
