Terry Pierce Obituary

Bridgewater - Terry V. Pierce, 75, passed away October 11, 2025, at his residence, with his loving wife Barbara at his side following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 2, 1949 in Houlton, the son of William Pierce and Joan (McIntyre) Pierce Jordan.
Terry grew up in Bridgewater and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Marjorie McIntyre. He attended Bridgewater Classical Academy and graduated from Aroostook Central Institute in 1968.
He held several jobs starting with delivering publications. After earning two associate degrees from NMVTI in auto mechanics and auto body, he worked in those fields at local businesses. He later took a job delivering farm equipment, fertilizers and chemicals throughout the state. He then was a GMC Warranty Writer, and did production work before retiring in 2019. Not one to sit still, Terry worked in insurance taking photos for homeowner policies, and also monitored potato bruise control in the fall.
Terry married Barbara Bishop on September 24, 1977, and together they would raise their daughter Tara and share 48 years of marriage. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, Victoria and Kylie. They had him wrapped around their little fingers.
He was selfless, often giving his time and energy to anyone in need, and would never pass up an opportunity to visit with his friends.
Terry was a member of the Masons and Aroostook Lodge #197 in Mars Hill, where he was a Past Master. He was active in the Blaine Belt Burners Snowmobile Club and worked tirelessly on the groomer and trails, and hill climb events at Big Rock Mountain.
Terry is survived by his wife Barbara (Bishop) Pierce of Bridgewater, a daughter Tara McCrum and his granddaughters, Victoria and Kylie McCrum all of Mars Hill. He also leaves behind siblings, Lynn (Nancy) Pierce, Brenda (Bruce) Bane, Linda "Sue" Parks (James Tripp), Timothy (Shelly) Parks, Carol (John) Small and William (Linda) Pierce, as well as several nieces and nephews to whom he was always referred to as "Uncle T," including a special nephew, Christopher Parks. Terry was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Marjorie McIntyre, his father, William (Jeannette) Pierce, his mother Joan (Wilfred) Jordan and a brother Ray Parks.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Bridgewater Free Baptist Church, where a Celebration of life will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Pastor Randy Wright officiating. A reception and continued fellowship will be held immediately following the service. The family would like everyone to bring a written memory to share, which will be used in a memory book. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Terry's memory be made payable to American Cancer Society, PALS SkyHope, 7110 Republic Airport, 2nd Floor, Farmingdale, NY 11735, or Hospitality Homes P.O. Box 15265, Boston, MA 02215. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, ME 04758. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at: www.duncan-graves.com
