Jim Craig

James Ruel Craig, while surrounded by loved ones at his home in Pima, Arizona, went home to our Lord Jesus on the morning of March 6, 2026. Jim was 77. His beloved wife, Angel, had cared for him and gave him comfort and strength through his battle against Glioblastoma.

If you knew Jim in his lifetime, you were blessed. He was an inquisitive and intelligent explorer of his world, always adding more than he took. He thought carefully about the choices he made in all aspects of his life. He held himself to high standards of unselfish honor.

Jim was born in Presque Isle, Maine, in 1948 to Forrest Jacob and Doris Luela Craig. Joining the Air Force after high school, he reached the rank of Staff Sargent before his discharge. After receiving a teaching degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, he settled in Show Low to take over photography and yearbook for the high school. This is where he fell in love with our country's breathtaking Southwest.

His teaching career was no surprise since he naturally educated everyone about their surroundings and encouraged life long learning. Some of his passions include an artistic eye for composition of photographs, love of golfing, automobiles, do-it-yourself projects and travel. He traveled extensively through the United States and the world. The list is long because he was open to trying anything. He served many years in the National Guard and Army Reserves retiring as Master Sargent.

However, Jim is best defined by his extreme love and pride for his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife Angel Craig, his daughter Kayla Marie Craig, his son Paddy Ryan (Charisse) Craig, his son Kyle Andrew (Katie) Craig, his bonus daughter Victoria (Robert) King, ten well loved grandchildren, his sister Jayne (Charles) Stout, his sister Joy (David) Missler, his brother, preceding him in death, Jon (Sally) Craig, and his brother Jay (Sue) Craig.

Jim you were a son, brother, true friend, husband, father, and grandfather... a lovely light that left this world to reside in eternity.
