TERRY R. ROMAY, 77, of Falls of Rough, KY, formerly of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, passed away at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center, Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born to the late Leo and Thelma (nee DuClos) Romay on July 30, 1948, in Red Bud, Illinois.
Terry was an Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
Terry had worked at International Shoe Company in Evansville, Spartan Printing in Sparta, Snyder General in Red Bud, Roger’s Redi Mix in Ruma, and retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation. Terry had been a member of the American Legion Post #622 in Prairie du Rocher and had been of the Catholic Faith.
Terry was affectionately nicknamed “Rock.” A nickname that could not be more appropriate for who he was as a person. Terry was a solid individual, dependable, an undeniable hard worker, and a great friend. He put pride in everything that he did. Terry was a creature of habit throughout his life. He woke up early and loved his morning coffee. Terry especially enjoyed fishing and spent many years at his lake in Prairie du Rocher. He was an avid outdoorsman, which prompted his move to Kentucky. Terry had a million-dollar smile. His genuine smile, sense of humor, and contagious laugh will be missed. A life well-lived.
