Terry Lee Schabacker, age 75, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin, with his loving family by his side. Terry was born on August 19, 1949, in Austin to Fredrick and Marcella (Sprague) Schabacker. He graduated from Austin High School in 1967. Terry drove the canteen truck delivering coffee and sandwiches and did lawn care for 25 years at Cedar Valley Services in Austin. He also drove cars for Ford Town.
Terry was a long-time member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. He loved to bowl, work in his flower garden and yard, ride his bicycle, sightsee, and avidly cheer on the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins.
Survivors include his sisters, Scheral Lau of Albert Lea, Alberta (Orvin) Grunklee of Owatonna, Joyce Vesely of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Bernadine (Kenneth) Haydon of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Debbie Schabacker of Virginia; special friend, Faye Houghton; several nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Marcella Schabacker; brothers, Marvin Schabacker and James Schabacker; sisters, Sharon Schabacker and Wilma Peterson; brother-in-law, Dennis Peterson.
A funeral service for Terry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Austin, Minnesota. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Services are prearranged and performed by Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes of Austin.
