Terry Louise Simons

Terry Louise Simons, age 63, went to be with the Lord at U.H.C. on Monday, October 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 10, 1961, a daughter of the late John W. Slater and Olive B. Cross (Shaffer).
Terry was a 1981 graduate of North Marion High School. She married her late husband, Lewis Herman Simons, in November of 1980. Terry worked at Sally's Hot Spot in Farmington for over fifteen years. She loved crocheting, crafting, and sewing and she used her talent to help make over 3,000 masks for others during the Covid pandemic, along with her mother and sister, Cindy Slater. Terry loved country music, especially Garth Brooks, and her favorite song was "Wagon Wheel", by Darius Rucker. She loved spending time with her family, including Owen, Blake, Tanner, whom she considered her grandsons.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Terry was preceded in death by her brothers: Matt Slater and Tim Slater; brothers-in-law: Don Lowe and Bentley Campbell; and sister-in-law Susan Garrett.
Terry is survived by her daughter, Miracle Simons and boyfriend James Wyatt; sisters: Connie Sayre and husband Larry of Clarksburg, Linda Lowe of Farmington, Cindy Slater of Mannington, Tonetta Ledsome and husband Harry of Mannington; brothers: John Slater and wife Debbie of Rachel, Daniel Slater and wife Katie of Mannington, Mark Slater and wife Alice of Mannington and adopted brother Pastor Jerry Garrett of Jane Lew; sisters-in-law Tammy Slater of Fairmont, and Patty Slater of Morgantown; uncle Bishop Wilbur Shaffer and wife Carolyn of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and two special nephews; Charles "Bunky" Simons and Jeffrey Slater.
Friends will be received at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Mannington, on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Garrett and Bishop Wilbur Shaffer officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
