Terry Joe "Football" Smith, 63, of DeGraff, passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on July 17, 1961, a son of LaDonna (McFarlin) Smith and the late Delbert Lee Smith.
Terry is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Pam Smith; three children, Sheri (Jerry) Elliott, Jami (Justin Lamb) Smith, and Zach (Tresa Stittums) Smith; grandchildren, Kyra Neeley, Hailey Neeley, Kaitlynn Wright, Ian Smith, Jordan Lamb, Hailee Lamb, Lexi Lamb, Logan Lamb, Bella Lamb, and Bradlee Lamb; a sister, Linda Hanley; a brother, David (Melissa) Davis; several nieces and nephews, including those he raised as his own, Amanda Smith, William Perk, Joanna Perk, Jimmy Perk, and Stephen Perk; special friends, D.J. Robinson, Bill Moore, and Larry Lauderback; and his favorite K-9 companion “Zoe”. In addition to his father, Terry was preceded in death by two brothers, William Smith, and Gary Smith.
Terry worked at Lacal Equipment in Jackson Center and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Sidney, Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, and Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post #39 in Lakeview. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and most especially spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. Per Terry’s wishes, cremation will follow services.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Terry’s memory, to a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
