Terry Lawrence Timney

Terry Lawrence Timney, 82, of Ocala, Florida (formerly of Coral Springs, Florida and Gibsonia, Pennsylvania), passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service, kindness, and devotion to his family and faith.
Terry proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, including active duty in Vietnam. His career was as varied as his talents-he was a skilled chef, a store manager for Winn Dixie grocery stores, a dedicated realtor, and a hardworking house painter. But perhaps his greatest passion was bass fishing, a pastime that brought him joy and peace.
A man of deep faith, Terry was a dedicated member of Saint Johns Church of Cotton Plant, where he generously volunteered his time and talents. He served on the church board, sang in the choir, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was respected and loved by all who knew him because he gave selflessly, embodying the spirit of true generosity.
Terry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Virginia, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to Scott Timney (Jane Jellesma) of Palm Bay, FL, and Debora (James) Bohlen of Franklin, TN. He cherished his three grandchildren, Erica (Bryson) Reynolds of Franklin, TN, Stephen (Maggie) Bohlen of Murfreesboro, TN, and Noelle (Jackson) Holland of Spring Hill, TN, and adored his five great-grandchildren, Parker, Jax, Miles, James, and Margaret Ann.
He is also survived by his brother, Tom Timney of Freeport, PA, his sisters-in-law, Camille Park and Patricia Park, and his brother-in-law, Pete (Bev) Brandt. Additionally, he leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Terry's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering generosity will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A service to honor his life will be held at St. Johns Church of Cotton Plant located at 12390 W. Highway 328, Ocala, FL 34482 on April 13, 2025, at noon for visitation and the service at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns Church or to Hospice of Marion County in his memory.
